Mean & Perspective

Mean is the middle, the average, the medium.

Works of art are reduced down to basic design elements: grid, color, and value. By showing the works of art in this way, we find that even in their basic forms, they are still recognizable as pieces of art. It implies that even though we tend to perceive art and design as separate entities, they still all can be boiled down to basic math.

Everyone has different perspectives of art and design. Which is which? What do you consider design and what do you consider art?
